MSCA Executive Director

                   Welcome, Bill!

Bill, known as “Mr. Moose” to his students, started his path in education, in 1979, teaching elementary school in Browning. After a memorable summer vacation, in 1982, running across the US on a “A Run for Peace”, he caught his breath long enough in Missoula to obtain a MA Degree in School Psychology . From there, he jogged north to the Flathead Indian Reservation, working as a school counselor and psychologist, and raising two lovely daughters with his wife, Co, through 2013. Eight years in the Gallatin Valley, mostly at Morning Star Elementary in Bozeman, followed that, during which he was recognized by this organization with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to children, families and our profession. After a year collecting a pension check and checking things off his bucket list, his restlessness got the best of him, bringing him to MSCA. Bill’s passion for helping school counselors is driven by a theme common to our profession: “When faced with tough choices, (let's) err on the side of what’s best - and be accountable - to, and for, our kids.”
